My Letter to my Kids

There are times when our children don't listen to what we say and we parents exhaust all means to communicate to them. Maybe, personal letters of mine especially composed for them wrapped around their favorite chocolate bar will do wonder...I hope so...

Charice Pempengco

Jocelle,

I heard you last night saying that you are proud of Charice and you regard her as the best singer in the world. Wow…it’s the most flattering comment from a fan like you.

You are like Charice to us. We are proud of you and we regard you as the best daughter in the world. I bet…that would be the most flattering comment from a fan like me.

I thank you daughter for being a mother whenever I feel tired of doing my responsibility as a mother. I can feel your concern to me whenever I lose patience of your siblings because you assume my responsibility as mother to Jhaye and Julius.

Do you know that you are natural leader? You are very articulate and I appreciate the notes you post anywhere on the wall of our house about policies at home.

Sometimes, you have to conquer your fear. Be brave to face your fear. And learn to modulate your voice. Sometimes, you tend to shout if you scold Julius. I am sorry if we are like that at home. We do also shout at you and Julius. Let us all change for good.

I admire your being friendly but choose your friends. Be friend to those who can inspire you and are role model to kids like you. If you meet somebody who does not have good values, then try your best to change him /her or pray for him/her to change for good if she/he doesn’t listen to you.

Do not have apprehension of your braces that will soon correct the structure of your teeth. It’s part of growing up. Sacrifice now and gain more confidence in the future as you smile with a perfect teeth. I thank God that we can afford to pay that very expensive brace.

We love you Jocelle and we care for you.

Your real bestfriend,

Mommy

P.S.
I know that you gave your best in your kumon. Congratulations that you have reached your level now. We are proud of you.

YOUR Favorite Character – MR. Bean

Julius,

I thank God that Mr. Bean character has been discovered in TV because I know it brings happiness to you. I can see you laugh every time you see his funny moves.

You are like Mr. Bean to us, not because you have similar movement as Mr. Bean, but because you are Gift from God. Like Mr. Bean, you also bring happiness to your parents ( to me and to your daddy ) especially the time when you are born because we really wanted a son since we had already a daughter in the person of your ATE Jocelle. A few years after, we are blessed with another daughter in the person of Jhaye.

You are very special to us because you are our only son. If there are times, we correct your wrongdoings, it’s because we care for you…it’s because we love you. If there are times we lay down our hands on you, it’s because we are molding you to become a good person. Everyday, I pray that all of our kids will soon grow as responsible and good person.

We are naturally smart…blessed with wisdom. We do not need other people to remind us on the right things to do. Yes, we make mistakes but we should strive not to commit the same mistakes again. It’s like if we mistakenly touch a fire…surely, we won’t touch it again because it is painful.

I love you son and I will not stop instilling in you the good values that soon will become your weapons like your sword and gun toy to be successful in life.

How about if you work hand in hand with your imaginary friend? Tell him to guide you become a better person. Invite him to change for good and God will surely bless you.

Your bestfriend,

Mommy

P.S.
I am so proud of you son being one of Bronze awardees in kumon.
